Question: What was the approximate year that Moses transcribed the Torah?

Answer: The Jewish date was 2448 and the Secular date was 1312 BCE. One opinion in the Talmud says he wrote it partially during the forty days he was in with G-d at Mount Sinai and subsequently gave parts of it over the next 40 years. Another opinion says he wrote it before he died, right before the Jews went into Israel.
